08 Oct Fonterra’s futuristic Auckland headquarters secured with EasyGate LX
In 2016, international dairy nutrition company Fonterra combined its Auckland offices into a new global headquarters in the city’s exclusive Wynyard Quarter, with 14 lanes of EasyGate LX securing different areas of the premium office space.
The award-winning seven-story building can house up to 2,000 staff and boasts 16,000 square metres of open-plan space designed to foster Fonterra’s high-trust, high-performance and values-focused approach to working.
Entrance Control General Manager Michael Bystram said the building exemplified the future of office spaces.
“Our EasyGate LX speedgates are the perfect security solution for this forward-thinking environment and allow a highly collaborative space to remain secure, proving that the buildings of the future demand equally advanced entrance solutions.”
Bystram said the EasyGate LX model is known for its reliability, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of 3,000,0000, and barriers which retract swiftly into its durable stainless-steel pedestals.
Safety and security remain paramount with multiple safety sensors, optical tailgate detection technology and the option to integrate with access control systems and activate third-party security systems.
Fonterra’s eye-catching HQ
Architects Jasmax and interior designer firm Veldhoen + Company partnered with green infrastructure specialists GreenAir and Fytogreen Australia to deliver a statement multi-storey internal green wall, lush plantscapes and a swathe of internal landscaped gardens throughout the building.
Fonterra’s uber-modern headquarters features an energy-efficient thermal envelope to reduce carbon emissions, rainwater harvesting to conserve water and solar heating for hot water.
The landmark location was recognised for its environmentally friendly features, receiving five Green Stars from the New Zealand Green Building Council for its base-build design and six Green Stars for its interior design. At the Property Council New Zealand awards in 2016, the premium office space won a Hays Commercial Office Property Award for excellence and a Resene Green Building Property Award for merit, rounding off a raft of recognition for its design features.
