Entrance Control Lanes For NZ Parliament
New Zealand’s Parliament Buildings have been modernised with the installation of five EasyGate SPT entrance control lanes in the complex’s revamped visitor entrance.
The lanes were part of a five-month project to modernise the ground floor of New Zealand Parliament’s Executive Wing. Around 90,000 people from New Zealand and around the world visit the Parliamentary complex in Wellington every year for work, tourism and educational purposes. New Zealand’s Parliament was seeking a solution that was welcoming, easy to use and able to handle a growing number of visitors without compromising security.
The EasyGate SPT model speedgate was ideal for the job because of its speed, reliability and user-friendly swing-barrier design. One of the lanes installed at New Zealand’s Parliamentary complex was widened for easy disabled access and the strengthened glass barriers used on all gates are programmed to swing away when people enter, creating an inviting approach.
The EasyGate SPT comes with Centaman Entrance Control’s patented magnetic direct drive motor to ensure fast and quiet operation, and the 1.8m height of the glass barriers helps to deter jump over attempts.
“New Zealand’s Parliament sees a large number of overseas visitors, as well as school groups. The EasyGate SPT lanes installed in the new entranceway are welcoming and ensure visitors and staff can quickly and securely enter the complex.”
